This girl is always so full of hugs and kisses. I am so grateful. I know it will probably end soon, so I am taking in as much of the love as possible! Aubrey is going to be THREE next week. I don’t even know how that is possible. I heard this saying before and it is so true, “the days are long but the years are short”.
I always get asked a ton of mom questions and I am no expert, but i’m going to answer my most frequently asked questions in todays post!
At what age did Aubrey start sleeping through the night? She was two and half months old. It was a Saturday, I’ll never forget it. Tyler and I both jumped up in a panic thinking something was wrong because it was 8am and she was still sleeping. She continued to sleep through the night and still does to this day.
How did you get to her sleep through the night that young? When people hear when Aubrey started sleeping through the night and how long she sleeps for they are shocked. I honestly think we just got lucky. Tyler and I are both sleepers. Fun fact, most days I sleep until 8:30-9:00 am. But I could easily sleep until 10am! LOL. I started Aubrey on a pretty strict schedule early on, which I think helped a lot. I stuck to it no matter what. I would plan my days around nap time and STILL DO. which some people think is crazy but nap time is life in our house.
What is her sleeping schedule? I honestly could’nt even tell you anymore what her schedule was when she was a newborn. It seems like forever ago! But since she was one years old this is how it has been.
Bed time: 8:00-8:30pm.
She wakes up between 9:00-9:45am.
Nap time is between 1:30-2:00pm. She’ll nap anywhere from 1-2 hours.
Do you plan on having any more kids? This is always my easiest NO. haha. Ever since I can remember I have always only wanted one child. I am an only child and I loved every second of it. Life is just so easy with one child, we love our little family of three.
Do you like being a stay at home mom? I love it. My whole life I wanted to be a stay at home mom, actually. Like on career day back when I was in middle school.. Stay at home wife/mom! I am so thankful that my dream came true. It is so exhausting, but so rewarding that I get to stay with my little Aubrey every day and watch her grow. She keeps me laughing all day long.
How often do I work out and kind of workouts? I don’t workout as much as I would like to. Every morning before Aubrey gets up and while I wait for my coffee to brew I do squats, lunges and push ups and then while she naps I do sit ups and crunches. It’s really not much, but at least it’s something because my eating habits are the worse. #fastfoodie
Did you imagine mom life being the way it is for you? I would say for the most part, it’s exactly what I pictured being a mom is like. As I am writing this, today is a good day. So on days like today I always think “wow! I got this. Being a mom is so easy!”. But, not all days are great. Some days as i’m dragging my screaming child out of Target because she didn’t get the toy she wanted i’m thinking to myself “What the hell. Someone get me wine!”. Obviously every child has their good and bad moments. They are mostly good with Aubrey, she is such a happy little girl. 90% of the time she is smiling and laughing.
How do you handle temper tantrums? I chuckled to myself when I saw this question. Because like WHY are tantrums even a thing!? Ugh. haha! Everyone always talks about the terrible twos. Well, the twos were a breeze for us. Three on the other hand.. Oh my goodness. I think at least once a day I say “threes are going to be the death of me”. Now that Aubrey is almost three we have seen a big change in her attitude. If I say the word “no”, its an instant cry fest. We just ignore it really and within a few seconds or minutes she stops. Or i’ll get down to her level and ask her to stop crying and tell me what the problem is and why she’s crying. I make her talk to me and we work out the problem together.
